ITS-SAFE Aging offers an online activity that provides:
- a value added service to the elder consumers;
- an early risk management tool for health care managers;
- and a powerful informatics engine that allows companies to spot trends through data mining.
As A Value Added Service:
We provide an Internet activity that helps elders recognize and identify personal health and safety risks. Participants receive customized information and resources that supports health, safety, independence and quality of life.
As An Early Intervention Risk Management Tool:
Health care managers can screen monitor, track and communicate with a large client base through a secure log-in. Our online program has no geographic limitations and offers the potential to assist clients without extensive staffing requirements.
As A Data Mining Source:
Companies benefit from a rich source of data that
can be extracted to predict cross-sell opportunities, identify market segments, and support marketing efforts.
ITS-SAFE Aging online activity is based upon the SAFETY APPRAISAL FOR ELDERS (SAFESM)
The SAFESM is the foundation of our online program. Developed by a Doctor of Occupational Therapy, the SAFESM has undergone face validity testing through formal and informal peer review by multiple experts, health care professionals, and elder service providers around the country.
What is the SAFESM?
The SAFESM is a self-appraisal activity for older adults that identifies and quantifies potential health and safety risks in six major life areas.
- Activities of Daily Living
Based on a scoring mechanism, participants receive a Risk Adjustment Plan (RAP) that provides customized information to promote proactive involvement in home and community health and safety.
